HEALTH & SAFETY COORDINATOR

 

 

Salary: £13,575 - £15,398 pro rata (Full Time Equivalent £22,624 - £25,662) Depending upon qualifications and experience)

Contract: Permanent

Hours of Work: Part Time – 21 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety specialist to coordinate our Health and Safety practices and procedures and to take a lead in ensuring these are embedded into the day-to- day working practices of our staff.  Working in collaboration with other specialist colleagues to build upon existing systems and procedures, you will help to strengthen and develop our compliance. Ideally the successful candidate will;

 

  • Have a recognised H&S qualification - NEBOSH (or equivalent)

  • Have well proven expertise in Risk \assessments, Fire Safety in respect of buildings and people, and incident investigation

  • Be adept at translating diagnosis and analysis into practical and achievable solutions

  • Be able to interpret and communicate complex regulation  so as to promote understanding across all staff groups    

  • Be skilled in undertaking site inspections, auditing management systems and devising ‘SMART’ remedial action plans.

  • Be able to coach and train staff in aspects such as risk assessment

 

Experience of working in the residential, care or education sector would be ideal, but equally important is the ability to provide excellent written and spoken communications, strong time management skills and the ability to exert influence to good effect.  In return we can offer a stimulating and beautiful work environment and great opportunities to make a valuable difference.
