Lucy - Teaching Assistant

"Hi, I'm Lucy, and I am a Teaching Assistant at The Sheiling Ringwood.

My role means that I work very closely with our students. Typical daily duties as a TA include assisting with art lessons, sewing sessions and a variety of outdoor activities. 

I really enjoy the variety of sessions that I get to be involved with and see how much the students interact with me and benefit from them. My particular favourites are sessions with specialist teachers in areas such as eurythmy, gardening and therapies. Everyone at the Sheiling works with a passion coming from deep within their hearts.

I love to see our pupils making progress each day with our help it creates a sense of being their “school family” which is special to be a part of. The children and young people here are an inspiration, they inspire me to become the best TA and person that I can be.

Staff at the Sheiling are very friendly all departments work well together, from the facilities team, teachers and TAs to our lovely ladies in HR and the senior management team.

Ultimately it is all about making our students smile and happy in all that they do and achieve. It is more than just a job."
